Hy-Vee returning to Market Grille in restaurant spaces
Jan. 21, 2025
Market Grille is returning as Hy-Vee Inc.’s on-site restaurant.
The Iowa-based company announced that it will transition all in-store restaurant locations across the Midwest to Hy-Vee Market Grille locations with a new menu that focuses primarily on breakfast and burgers.
The concept will replace Wahlburgers, which has locations in three Sioux Falls Hy-Vee stores.

Beginning Feb. 4, all Hy-Vee restaurants will offer a new breakfast menu. A new lunch and dinner menu will roll out throughout February.
“The new menus will bring back fan favorites like Hy-Vee Market Grille burgers, BLT and club sandwiches and pork tenderloin sandwiches, while still offering popular items like wings and wontons,” Hy-Vee said in a statement.
Hash browns also are returning to the new breakfast menu.
Other traditional breakfast items will include omelets, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, French toast and a breakfast burrito.
“Hy-Vee designed the new menus to offer a wider variety of choices for families, individuals and breakfast groups at an affordable price,” the company said.
The transition will happen across Hy-Vee’s region in phases starting this week. After the switchover, Hy-Vee will have 221 Market Grille and Market Grille Express locations across the Midwest.
Hours will be 6 to 11 a.m. for breakfast on weekdays and 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the weekend with a brunch buffet at some locations. Lunch and dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and from 2 to 8 p.m. on the weekend.
All Market Grille locations will offer both dine-in and carryout service, as well as third-party delivery. Most locations will have counter service, where customers order at the counter and staff bring their order to their table.
Hy-Vee announced some other closures of Wahlburgers restaurants in Midwest markets last year.
