Fair Market is combining its two stores into one larger location.

The reduced-price grocery store is moving into the former Family Dollar at 2511 S. Minnesota Ave.

Its location at 523 N. Kiwanis Ave. will close Dec. 16. The one at 4510 E. 10th St. will close at a later date. The new store will open Dec. 19 with a grand opening to follow next year.

“We are excited to strengthen how we serve the community by moving to a new centralized location,” the store said in a statement.

“Moving to one location that is larger allows us to better serve the community by strengthening our produce offerings and have consistent product available. Our customers are coming from all over the city and over the last two years of piloting two locations we learned that there is not a specific geographical area that is served.”

When the store on Kiwanis Avenue opened two years ago, the Eat Well Sioux Falls Mobile Market hadn’t started serving specific neighborhoods, Fair Market said.

“The Mobile Market is now fully operational and we will support their efforts as able to serve specific geographical areas,” it said. “Our mission remains the same to provide accessible and affordable food in a sustainable manner. We believe we can best do this from one location that is centrally located.”
