Everest Indian Cuisine is opening a second location in Sioux Falls.

The Indian restaurant will fill the space vacated by Urban Chislic at 431 W. 85th St., according to Paul Gourley of Harr & Lemme Commercial, who brokered the deal.

“It’s a great out lot in front of Walmart with a lot of traffic and a lot of rooftop development and growth with Veterans Parkway coming through,” he said.

Urban Chislic closed in August, and while the space drew “a lot of interest,” Everest’s owners “were the only ones that wrote an offer,” Gourley said.

“There’s not a lot of restaurants in Sioux Falls with hood vents. They’re hard to find and expensive.”

Everest Indian Cuisine opened in 2017 in a retail center on the southeast corner of 41st Street and Western Avenue.

The new south Sioux Falls location requires only cosmetic updates to turn it from a chislic-based concept to an Indian one, Gourley said.

“All the kitchen came turnkey, so it should be a quick turn,” he said.

The plan is to open by early December.
