Tandem kayaks, soon swan boats among additions for water-based activity business
May 17, 2024
Tandem kayak are ready to rent, and swan boats are next for a growing water-based activity business.
Flow and Paddle opens for the season today, offering a variety of options for recreation at Lake Lorraine.
The new tandem kayaks are made “for those who wish to share their experience together,” owner/instructor Cassandra Willett said. “They each seat two paddlers and a plus-one, generally for a small child.”
Willett also is offering yoga classes, bringing in the lakefront scenery at the west-side development. Students can take in the views while doing yoga lakeside, on the patio of The Blu on Lorraine or on the rooftop patio of the apartment building.
Up next: Swan boats.
“These will be catered in and made available to the public once the dock is put in under the next phase of Lake Lorraine development,” Willett said. “We are definitely excited and looking forward to bringing these new attractions to our community.
While she’s optimistic the boats will arrive for this season, 2025 “is more realistic,” she said.
In the meantime, Flow and Paddle will offer kayaks, paddle boarding, pedal boats and the Megalodon, which can hold up to 10 standing paddlers. Opening day will offer discounts on activities along with refreshments on the rooftop patio of The Blu from noon to 1 p.m.
“We are thrilled to open our doors and welcome the community to experience the joy of water recreation,” Willett said. “With summer officially kicking off and schools out, there’s no better time to embrace the outdoors and create unforgettable memories with friends and family.”
