Take a look at the 53 $1 million+ home sales of 2021 — including one that sold twice
Jan. 5, 2022
We looked back at the property transfer reports for 2021 to find the most expensive residential real estate sales for the year.
Fifty-three houses sold for $1 million or more in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties. In 2020, there were 28 properties that met the mark. There were 20 houses that surpassed the million-dollar mark in 2019 and 12 in 2018.
The most expensive residential property sold last year is an acreage south of Spring Creek Golf Course that went for $2.8 million. The home was built in 2002 and has 6,000 square feet, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. It sits on 6 acres and has two outbuildings.
The No. 2 home actually appears on the list twice. In July, the property known as “Bellosquardo” at 217 N. Fairway Circle in Brandon sold for $1,540,000. Then, in the final week of the year, it sold for $2,275,000.
It was built in 2001 and sits on 6 acres overlooking Split Rock Creek and Brandon’s two golf courses. With more than 10,000 square feet, the house has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a six-stall garage. Features include a bar, library, theater room and indoor pool.
When it went on the market in October, the online real estate listing described it as having a “recently updated interior with incredible attention to detail honoring the existing architectural integrity.”
