605 Running Co. has opened in its new downtown space.

It’s part of the renovated Johnson Building at 225 E. 11th St.

“We are so happy with our new space,” co-owner Greg Koch said. “Being able to design everything allowed us to create a space tailored to our specific needs. We are looking forward to creating many great running memories at the Johnson Building.”

The business moved from the Beach Pay Building at 124 S. Phillips Ave., where it had been since it opened in 2014.

“Operationally, we have gained significantly in accessibility. Not only do we house our retail space, but we do many outbound race timing gigs and pop-up shops,” Koch said.

“We have direct access to our backroom, which makes loading, unloading, shipping and receiving so much easier in our new location. From a retail perspective, we have gained with direct parking access, which not many folks can claim in downtown Sioux Falls.”

The store is on the south side of the building at 11th and Second Avenue.

The layout allows the store to “flex our muscles with our brand partners,” he continued.

Those include lululemon, On and Brooks.

The business’ locally owned and operated running events including the Lucky 7’s, Skedaddle Half Marathon, the Bryan Boys for Hope Zippy Mile, SuFu Circuit Relay, the 605 Summer Race Series and the Gobble Wobble 10k.

“We also have dynamic business partners in the building, which allows for cross-traffic and creates opportunity for us,” Koch said. “Overall, this space is very shopable and offers abundant light to truly showcase our great merchandise.”

Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Other tenants in the Johnson Building include Preach-es, a clothing store; 2nd Avenue Salon Suites; Discovery Realty Group; law firm Evans Haigh & Arndt; Lenae Design; and The Cattitude Cafe, which hasn’t opened yet.
