A new year means four new ways to put your GreatLIFE Golf & Fitness membership to work, saving you on everything from food and beverages to a potentially life-changing service.

“A new year is a great time to not only remind our members of all the amazing savings they can enjoy every day but to announce some new ones,” said Krista Youngberg, who oversees member benefits at GreatLIFE.

“It can be easy to forget just how many businesses partner with us because they have similar missions and want to offer something extra for our members.”

Perk up your day

Whether you’re an east- or a west-sider, this one’s for you.

Both Dunn Brothers Coffee locations in Sioux Falls are offering a free small drink with any lunch sandwich purchase, plus $2 off any 1-pound bag of beans.

Dunn Brothers offers six sandwiches. including the Ultimate Club with oven-roasted turkey, turkey bacon, smoked ham, Swiss and cheddar cheeses, spring mix, Parmesan tomatoes and pesto aioli.

There’s also a Bacon Grilled Cheese with melted cheddar, Swiss, Parmesan and a mozzarella-provolone blend with bacon, roasted peppers, tomato and pesto aioli.

Or try the Ham & Brie with smoked ham and brie with roasted onion, tomato, spring mix and apple horseradish jam on fresh-baked ciabatta.

“We have all sorts of healthy options, so it’s a great place to stop if you’re looking for a freshly made sandwich,” co-franchisee Eric Ward said.

“We appreciate what GreatLIFE does to give back to the community, and we wanted to be part of that too. It’s all about community for us, and that’s why we chose to offer something as a member benefit.”

Combo this

A Sioux Falls favorite new restaurant of 2024 now is available to GreatLIFE members looking to save every day.

Take $3 off your combo meal at Atomic Wings, 1502 E. 69th St., which is conveniently located just a mile west of GreatLIFE Performance Center.

“People love our boneless wings and chicken tenders, and we want to encourage them to come in and remember you can also get a flatbread or a chicken sandwich, which makes a great combo including at lunch,” said Eric Engelstad, co-franchisee with his wife, Stefanie, and business partner Aaron Neiman.

“Plus, we just rolled out mac-and-cheese as a side, so there’s a new option for combo meals.”

The deal isn’t available online, so stop in to take advantage – then choose to dine in or carry out.

“Just show your GreatLIFE tag and you’ll get the $3 off, so we think it’s a great deal,” Engelstad said.

The GreatLIFE offer is the second for the Engelstads, who also own the local franchise for Firehouse Subs and offer members free chips and a drink with the purchase of a medium or large sub.

“We’ve got good traction with GreatLIFE members with our Firehouse offer, and GreatLIFE has been a good partner over the years, so we’re happy to offer this new benefit,” Engelstad said.

Learning boost

Could your child use a little help in school – or some enrichment?

Sylvan Learning offers personalized tutoring tailored to your child’s specific needs to achieve the best results.

“At Sylvan Learning, we provide tutoring services that have a huge impact on children’s lives,” said Michelle McGuckin, who co-owns the Sioux Falls location.

“Sylvan knows that having academically strong and confident students has a huge positive impact on our community and future.”

GreatLIFE members will receive a $35 assessment, which is a $60 savings. And, with a qualified enrollment, they’ll also receive one week of free tutoring.

“GreatLIFE has a positive impact on our community and is known for its mission of helping members in our community build a great life,” McGuckin said “This ‘great life’ is not just in the gym or on the golf course but in all parts of life.”

Sylvan Learning provides tutoring for students from pre-K through the 12th grade.

“We can help a student reach their academic goals, get caught up at school and help build confidence,” McGuckin said.

“Kids who work with Sylvan tutors see up to three times more academic growth than their peers.”

And you don’t need to wait until a school break or summer to begin.

“The best time to start a student at Sylvan is the day you know they need help,” McGuckin said.

“If you’re wondering how your student is doing, give us a call and we can schedule an assessment. We would be happy to answer any questions and discuss how Sylvan can benefit your family.”

Cheers to this

Check out one of the west side’s favorite new places to grab a meal or beverage with a new GreatLIFE benefit at Session Ale Works.

Members save 15 percent on food and drinks any time of day.

“Our owners are members of GreatLIFE and believe in a healthy lifestyle and want to promote that,” said Todd Burns, front of house and bar manager.

“We thought it was a good benefit to pass along for people to come in and enjoy our establishment. We’re relatively new, and there are a lot of people in the community who haven’t discovered what we offer.”

You’ll find Session Ale Works at 323 S. Whitewood Circle, near 12th Street and Ellis Road.

“We now have a full bar available, with 27 domestic and craft beers from local and regional brewers, and we’ve gone through a recent menu upgrade and have changed our pizza recipe with some fantastic new offerings on the pizza menu,” Burns said.

The full menu also includes a selection of burgers, wings, tacos and sandwiches.

Find the menu at sessionaleworks.com.

And keep an eye on the restaurant throughout the month for information on a limited-seating bourbon dinner, plus other special events ahead.
