Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop opens this week

Dec. 3, 2018

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop opens Tuesday at Lake Lorraine.

The restaurant is in a new building along Marion Road.

Capriotti’s has more than 100 locations nationwide. The local franchise is owned by Aaron and Tonya Niewald, who plan to open two more locations in Sioux Falls in the next three years.

The menu features hot and cold subs, and salads, soups and combos.

The signature sandwich is the Bobbie. It’s like Thanksgiving in a sub, with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce.

Other popular options include the Capestrami, with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and
coleslaw; cheesesteaks and a homemade meatball sub.

“Our general contractor gave the chicken cheesesteak a 10,” Tonya Niewald said. “People have been very impressed.”

Customers who stop by during opening week will receive a coupon good for a future buy-one-get-one order.

There are enough staff members for now, but the restaurant is still taking applications.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
