With large amount of COVID vaccine arriving, Lewis Drug offers vaccination events to employers

April 6, 2021

Lewis Drug is expecting to receive a significant allocation of COVID-19 vaccine in the coming week and is offering to hold free vaccination events for employers.

The vaccine will be from Johnson & Johnson/Janssen and is a one-dose vaccine.

“So we’re trying to market to employers potentially who may have 20 or more people who may be willing to be vaccinated,” said Jessica Strobl, director of pharmacy services. “We will come on-site to be more convenient.”

Individuals must be 16 or older to receive the vaccine.

Lewis also is able to travel outside the Sioux Falls area, Strobl said. At this point, even larger events are an option.

“We might need a little more flexibility in scheduling that big of an event, but any number could be entertained if an employer were interested in setting up an on-site clinic,” she said.

Clinics could be scheduled as soon as next week. Email [email protected] to begin the process.

For individuals or businesses with fewer than 20 employees, Strobl recommends continuing to check lewisdrug.com because there will be an increasing number of open appointments.
