Wagoo Burger expands with food truck

May 8, 2023

One of the newest food trucks in town will serve as a mobile version of Wagoo Burger and as a catering vehicle for Crawford’s Bar & Grill.

Both downtown restaurants are owned by the Ode brothers, who decided adding a food truck was the next step.

Wagoo Burger will make its on-the-road debut Tuesday night at Villas at Canyon Creek Apartments, said Tim Moots, who is managing it. The event from 4:30 to 7 p.m. is open to the public.

Throughout food truck season, the menu will be burgers, chislic, fries and cheese curds. A cheesesteak offering will use beer cheese made with a brew from Fernson Brewing Co. Wagoo Burger got its start operating the kitchen in Fernson Downtown. The meat is provided by another Ode venture, OC Land & Cattle Co.

“Once we get going, we might come up with our own special burger,” Moot said.

Burgers will be grilled to order, and everything will be made fresh, he said.

“I’m super excited about it,” said Moot, who has been working in construction for OdeCo. and also serves in the South Dakota Air National Guard. His role there is in services, which includes providing food along with other duties. “We’ll push it hard and see where it goes.”

The truck will be based at the OdeCo. shop in Brandon, and Moot envisions doing pop-ups in the town, possibly a couple of times a week. It’s  available for public and private events.

Locations will be posted on Wagoo’s Facebook page.

For Crawford’s, the truck will offer year-round service for the restaurant’s expanding catering services. It will be perfect for serving late-night food at weddings, Moot noted.
