Villas on Duluth to offer high-end twin homes

Aug. 27, 2019

It’s hard to find land for new homes in the Minnehaha County portion of south-central Sioux Falls, but Pat Beckman managed it.

Beckman Realty & Development is developing and building four twin homes called The Villas on Duluth on a parcel of just over an acre on the northeast corner of 57th Street and Duluth Avenue.

“It’s been awhile putting it together,” Beckman said. “We’re building two buildings with two units each.”

They are ranch-style walkouts that are about 2,650 square feet on the main level and intended to be customized.

“We’re going to be able to have a nice view out of the back, and it’s extremely hard to find a piece in Minnehaha County in south-central Sioux Falls, so that was our intent when we were able to put the deal together,” he said.

The property includes mature trees and a natural greenway.

Homes start around $900,000. Size and design are flexible, but they are intended to include two bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms and a den on the main level, with the option for two more bedrooms, two bathrooms, a family room and wet bar below.

“They’re luxury finishes with big allowances for people to choose what they want,” Beckman said. “We provide the outside shell and will work to rearrange what they like inside.”

Additional options include a fireplace, double oven and wine cooler.

All units will include a large walk-in pantry, covered deck, his-and-her master closets and a heated three-stall garage. An association will handle lawn care, snow removal and garbage.

There has been interest even before construction started, Beckman said.

“We’re working hard to finish up one sale, and we have another one under contract,” he said.

The hope is to be done with the first units next spring.
