US Foods appears to be getting ready to expand in Sioux Falls.

The national food distributor recently closed on a $1.1 million purchase of land adjacent to the 5.5 acres it owns in the Sioux Falls Development Foundation’s Park VIII in northeast Sioux Falls near 60th Street North and Sycamore Avenue.

“The Development Foundation has been working with US Foods for an extended period of time on this land transaction,” said Dean Dziedzic, the foundation’s vice president. “We expect they will share more on their plans in the coming weeks.”

US Foods acquired Variety Foods in 2017. Variety Foods originally located in the development park in 2009 with a 40,000-square-foot building.
