DocuTap’ Natalie Sogn appreciates company’s culture

This week’s Up & Comer is Natalie Sogn, a project specialist at DocuTap.

Name: Natalie Sogn

Age: 23

Hometown: Sioux Falls

What brought you to Sioux Falls?

I grew up in Sioux Falls and left for four years while I got my degree in business economics from South Dakota State University. After graduating, I had a summer internship in Sioux Falls and then was hired by DocuTap.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

The people of Sioux Falls are what keep me here — it is such a great community to be a part of both socially and professionally.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I am so grateful for the environment that DocuTap creates and maintains for its employees. I have the opportunity to learn new things with lunch-and-learns, challenge myself with new projects and bond with my co-workers over Beer Friday in the summer. It’s a business that values the individual.

How did you get connected to your industry?

Through my internship the summer after graduation, I was introduced to a recruiter from DocuTap. A project specialist job opened, and she encouraged me to apply. Two weeks later, I was offered the job. It shows how supportive the Sioux Falls community is and how important it is to grow strong connections.

Describe DocuTap in three words.

Innovative. Focused. Authentic.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Whole Foods. It’s a company that not only sells fresh, delicious food but also supports and donates to local communities. Plus, their prepared foods department is phenomenal.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I would like to have my MBA, have grown and continue to grow my professional skills, and continue to surround myself with individuals who challenge and encourage me.
