What brought you to Sioux Falls?

While completing my LLM (Master of Laws) in taxation, I received a job offer from Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith. It didn’t take long for me realize that it was time to return home to South Dakota. The opportunity to work at such an outstanding firm and be close to friends and family was something I couldn’t pass up!

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

Sioux Falls offers the conveniences of living in a bigger city while having the feel of a small community. I enjoy all of the events and entertainment that are hosted here. Also, the things that brought me here: my job, family and friends.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

The opportunity to work with clients from my home state. Also, my colleagues! I am grateful to start my career with all of the guidance that is offered to me from the attorneys and staff at Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith.

How did you get connected to your industry?

While I was attending Dakota Wesleyan University, I was encouraged from my professors and mentors to go to law school.

What is something someone might be surprised to learn about you?

I enjoy riding the bike trail loop in Sioux Falls.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

I hope to serve on the boards of different organizations in Sioux Falls. I would also like to get involved in coaching youth basketball at some point.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Trader Joe’s. I would also like to see more outdoor seating at restaurants.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself continuing to develop my practice at Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith. Outside of work, I hope to be involved in the community and bring positive changes to Sioux Falls.
