The French Door to move locations, add signature line

May 23, 2018

The French Door Bridal Boutique is moving a little farther south.

It plans to wind down operations at 57th Street and Louise Avenue next month and open July 1 at 69th Street and Western Avenue.

The bridal shop will occupy a space of more than 4,000 square feet between McNally’s Irish Pub and Faini Designs Jewelry Studio at Heather Ridge Village.

Kalli Blackstone, who also owns the event venue The Canton Barn, bought The French Door last year and considered moving it to Canton but couldn’t find a building.

“And it seems like the growth is really moving to the south part of Sioux Falls, so we thought that would be a great spot,” she said. “The layout will be a lot different, more cohesive and open. And it will be super gorgeous, very modern and updated.”

The space also allows her to bring in a new private label line designed for The French Door.

In the meantime, gowns and accessories are 40 percent to 80 percent off in what Blackstone is calling the Shut the French Door sale. That will run through June.

She’s hoping there won’t be much, if any, lag time between closing one location and opening the next.
