The Attic owners to add restaurant in Brandon

Jan. 19, 2022

The owners of The Attic Bar & Grill are opening a restaurant in Brandon.

It will be next to Arby’s in a retail center on Splitrock Boulevard. Build-out work has started, and the hope is to open in April, co-owner and chef Nick Mangene said.

They aren’t sure yet if it will be called The Attic or if it will get a new name, Mangene said.

It will be a similar concept to the two locations in Sioux Falls, which have an extensive menu of burgers, sandwiches, pasta dishes, pork and chicken entrees, flatbreads, salads and appetizers.

The restaurant will have a full liquor license.

A company connected to American Roast Beef Inc., the franchise group that operates Arby’s, built the retail center in 2018. The Attic owners are combining the two remaining spaces in the building, which have never been leased, creating about 5,000 square feet of space.

“It took awhile, but it’s going to be nice,” said Joe James, president of American Roast Beef, which also operates Arby’s in Sioux Falls.

Because it will include a bar, the new restaurant won’t be competing for the same customers as Arby’s, he said.

“We hope it brings more people out there for both of us.”
