The Artist’s Club brings barbering with creative twist to Sioux Falls
Jan. 29, 2025
A new barbershop east of downtown aims to offer more than haircuts.
The Artist’s Club at 1512 E. 10th St. opened late last year and is owned by Abdiel Ramirez and Jonathan Marroquin. Ramirez said the aim is to provide a unique blend of artistry, community and exceptional service.

The idea behind The Artist’s Club was to create something distinct for the local community, he said.
“There aren’t many barbershops like this in the area,” Ramirez said. “We wanted to bring something different — services that go beyond the basics, with a focus on quality and experience.”
The Artist’s Club offers complimentary snacks and drinks to welcome customers, and trained barbers offer a full range of services, including fades, hot-towel shaves and personalized consultations.

“We see our work as art,” Ramirez said. “Each barber here is like an artist perfecting their craft. It’s why we chose the name.”
While the shop caters primarily to men, including children, Ramirez said anyone is welcome. “It’s not just about haircuts — it’s about building a community.”

The Artist’s Club is upfront about its slightly higher prices, but the owners believe the experience justifies the cost. “We focus on quality over quantity,” Ramirez said. “It’s about giving every client the time and attention they deserve.”
Since opening, the shop has been consistently booked, Ramirez said, reflecting the growing demand for its services.
Ramirez said they have plans to expand, with hopes of opening more locations.

But growth isn’t just about business — it’s about giving back, Ramirez said. The Artist’s Club is planning to host classes and events for aspiring stylists and young artists interested in barbering.
“We want to inspire others and share the art of grooming,” Ramirez said.
“It’s not just a career; it’s a craft. We want people to know we’re here for them.”
