Stockyards Ag Experience starts free admission, summer hours

May 3, 2019

It’s now free to visit the Stockyards Ag Experience at Falls Park.

The attraction turned the former historic horse barn into a hands-on educational look at the state’s agricultural heritage.

Kids can learn about where food comes from at an interactive farm-to-table exhibit, and those of all ages can look back and learn about the history of the Sioux Falls Stockyards.

“We are excited to offer free admission to the Stockyards Ag Experience so more people can experience our mission of connecting agriculture with our daily lives,” executive director Abby Bischoff said. “We know by removing the admission fee, it will allow families of all economic backgrounds to have access to this entertaining and interactive learning experience.”

Visitors will be encouraged to leave a freewill donation.

“Visitors to Falls Park have so much to explore as the area continues to develop,” Bischoff said.

“With the addition of Levitt at the Falls and Stensland Family Farms taking over management of the Falls Overlook Cafe, we know this move to free admission will give visitors even more reason to spend time in Falls Park and downtown Sioux Falls.”

Summer hours at the Stockyards Ag Experience are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except on Tuesday when it’s closed, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
