Steakhouse opening delayed a week at The Steel District
Oct. 28, 2024
The final restaurant from Twin Cities restaurateurs at The Steel District will open a little later than planned.
Ironwood had been scheduled to open this week but has shifted opening day to Nov. 5 to allow for more staff training.
The restaurant is at 150 E. Fourth Place in the same downtown office tower at Big Sioux Burger and Dahlia Kitchen + Bar, adjacent to the Big Sioux River.
The restaurants are a partnership between Lloyd Cos. and Twin Cities restaurateurs Josh Thoma, Kevin Fitzgerald and Nick O’Leary, who own and operate concepts such as Smack Shack and Burger Dive.
Ironwood is a two-story restaurant with multiple dining and bar areas, including a riverfront patio on the first floor and sliding floor-to-ceiling windows on the second floor.
The restaurant holds 129 for indoor dining and 28 on the patio, with options for private dining.
The menu features classic steakhouse dishes, starting with options like fresh or grilled oysters, steak tartare, a relish tray and mushroom pierogis.
On the wood-fire grill, all the steaks and chops are grilled over South Dakota hardwood and can be paired with a selection of housemade sauces and butters.
Additional entrees include lobster ravioli, rabbit stroganoff and seafood options such as roasted black cod and grilled octopus.
Bread service is from Look’s Marketplace, including some specialty offerings.

Ironwood will be open daily for dinner only, beginning at 4 p.m.
