Travelers at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport can enroll for TSA PreCheck at a temporary enrollment center the week of June 14.

The status allows travelers to leave on shoes, light outerwear and belts and to keep their laptop, other large electronics and travel-size liquids in carry-on bags during screening.

Allegiant Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines and United Airlines, which serve the Sioux Falls Regional Airport, all participate in TSA PreCheck, giving local travelers an extra incentive to enroll in the program, the airport said in a news release announcing the dates.

The enrollment center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. June 14-18 in the main floor conference room inside the airport terminal.

Appointments are available each day with the greatest availability on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. While walk-ins will be accommodated, appointments are recommended.

When entering the airport to enroll in TSA PreCheck, everyone must wear a face covering because of the federal face mask requirement throughout the nation’s transportation system.

Applicants must bring a current U.S. passport or a driver’s license and a certified copy of a birth certificate. Fingerprints will be collected during enrollment.

Travelers can start the enrollment process online. Start by visiting tsa.gov/precheck and select “Apply Now.” Follow the online prompts, enter the requested information, and select “Sioux Falls, SD Pop-Up” as the enrollment location.

The enrollment fee is $85, which covers a five-year period. The fee must be paid at the time of enrollment by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier’s check.

Another benefit of the program is that children 12 and younger are eligible for TSA PreCheck screening when traveling with an eligible parent or guardian on the same itinerary.
