Sioux Falls ranks among nation’s best-managed cities

Sioux Falls has been ranked among the nation’s top 10 best-managed cities.
That’s according to a new analysis from personal finance website WalletHub.
To determine the effectiveness of local leadership, WalletHub compared 148 of the largest U.S. cities based on their operating efficiency. For each city, WalletHub constructed a “Quality of City Services” score – comprising 36 key performance indicators grouped into six service categories – that was then measured against the city’s total per capita budget.
Here’s a look at how Sioux Falls ranked. The average ranking is 74.
Overall rank: Seventh
- 23rd – Financial stability.
- 75th – Education.
- 46th – Health.
- 29th – Safety.
- 7th– Economy.
- 63rd – Infrastructure and pollution.
- 17th – Total budget per capita.
Provo, Utah, was ranked first, while the next closest regional city was Lincoln, Nebraska, at No. 8.
