Feb. 26, 2025
Sioux Falls residents work among the hardest of any city in the nation, according to a new report.
The study from financial website WalletHub looked at the nation’s 116 largest cities across 11 key metrics, including employment rate, average hours worked per week and share of workers with multiple jobs.
Sioux Falls’ top ranking for employment rate — the metro area has repeatedly reported the nation’s lowest unemployment rate multiple times in the past year — helped it to finish No. 11 overall.
Sioux Falls also ranked No. 25 in average workweek hours and of workers with multiple jobs. It ranked No. 19 for share of households where no adults work.
Anchorage, Alaska, ranked first, followed by Washington, D.C.
