The annual event Friday through Sunday at the Sioux Falls Arena and Convention Center will feature a record number of vendors ready to help you with every aspect of your home.

“We filled up just about every nook and cranny there is with over 260 vendors,” said Doug Top, owner of Top Construction, who is co-chairing this year’s event with Adam Balding, co-owner of Budget Blinds.

“We are expecting a great crowd to be joining us for this year’s event. Our vendors have felt the interest, and everyone is going to be jumping on board and ready for this year’s Home Show.”

With continued uncertainty around the economy, low home inventory and mortgage rates higher than in recent years, “I think people have really gone into full remodel mode,” Top said.

“The building reports from the city have verified that the remodeling industry has been hot, and the signs tell us that that streak is going to continue.”

However, a number of home foundations were put in before winter, meaning new homes are on the way as well, Balding said.

“I remain confident in the building industry as a whole in the Sioux Empire,” he said. “We have so much potential and opportunity here and amazing building industry professionals that can help take those projects from conception to completion.”

Events like the Home Show provide an amazing opportunity for the public to come and visit one on one with industry professionals and see all the latest trends they can incorporate into their projects, he added.

At the Home Show, “all facets of the industry will be under one roof, from financing to landscaping, pools to pergolas, light fixtures to faucets; literally everything is there for the home this year,” Balding said.

His own booth will feature the growing amount of technology customers are integrating into their homes.

“We’re really seeing a lot of home automation, a lot of motorized blinds and home integrations into large systems that control the entire home,” he said. “We’ll show multiple different technologies, and we’ll really be showing a lot of design – different fabrics and colors, bold fashion statements that aren’t necessarily for everyone’s home but will be a shade you look at and think it’s cool.”

Also, you won’t want to miss this year’s featured booth “The Backyard Experience” — a 2,000-square-foot booth that will have you dreaming about a backyard oasis of your own.

“It will include a hot tub with a pergola, paver trends, decking must-haves and a putting green — just to give you a taste of what you will see. It’s bound to inspire an outdoor living setup that that is beyond your wildest dreams,” Top said.

Don’t forget about the kids. They’ll have an opportunity to create their own squirrel feeders to take home for free while parents browse the show.

Additionally, make sure and download the new app that will help you navigate the show and make connecting with businesses easy, plus you can save $1 off admission when you download it.

“The app is going to be really cool,” Balding said. “It’s more integrated, so it will be easier to find what you’re looking for, and there’s no more using a map that can be hard to read.”
