The Sioux Falls area’s largest and longest-running home-related trade show marks 65 years in 2023 with some new additions.

The 65th annual Sioux Empire Home Show, which is organized by the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire, will be Friday through Sunday at the Sioux Falls Arena and Convention Center. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. (Note: The time has been adjusted to start at 1 p.m. Friday)

More than 235 local vendors will fill the floor with a huge variety of ways to update your home inside and out.

“We’re excited to get the public out there again to see the latest trends in our industry, ask questions and get involved with some of the vendors,” said co-chair Jon Beatch of Beatch Construction.

“If you have any questions or interest in product, it’s great to start the conversation there. See the new trends at the show, and maybe it spurs you to go to a larger showroom and see more.”

Definitely stop in the Arena at this year’s show, where eight vendors have teamed up to create a 2,000-square-foot space centered around outdoor living – from pavers to decks to even a cabana.

“They’ll have a pizza oven set up with samples, and you’ll be able to buy pizza ovens for your backyard, so that’s a fun area to check out,” Beatch said. “And throughout the show, there will be other exhibitors that will be selling things on-site.”

There’s also plenty to do for the whole family. In a kids area, young visitors can build wooden boxes to take home. And, for high schoolers, students at the Sioux Falls CTE Academy and Harrisburg are participating in the Frame the Future event, which will bring them to the show during school Friday.

“They’ve worked on projects at school and will be judged on those, along with a written test. Plus, they can meet with vendors and walk the show,” Beatch said. “We’re trying to get kids more interested in the industry. You don’t see a lot of high school-age kids at a home show, so this is a way to get them involved.”

There continues to be solid interest in remodeling in the Sioux Falls area, he added.

“We have deck projects, windows, siding, additions,” Beatch said. “A lot of people refinanced at a low rate and are looking at staying in their home and investing in their home and enjoying that space. No matter what stage of a project you’re at – from getting ideas to being ready to get started, you’ll leave the Home Show inspired with ideas.”

Free parking is available at the Home Show. Tickets can be purchased during the show hours at the Arena box office. Prices are:

  • Regular admission for age 13-64: $7
  • Seniors age 65 and older: $6
  • Kids 12 and younger: Free
