Sioux City-based Sonography Studio opens location in Sioux Falls

Feb. 8, 2024

A business providing parents-to-be ultrasounds and other baby-related services — plus a little shopping — has opened in Sioux Falls.

The Sonography Studio is in a retail center within the Lake Lorraine development. Owner Lily Frank started the business in 2022 in Sioux City.

The Sonography Studio started with the intent to offer ultrasounds for expecting parents but has evolved into a wellness center with a spa-like feel, offering not only sonograms but IV hydration/therapy, hormonal and vitamin/mineral testing, “sneak peek” early gender-reveal DNA testing, Morpheus8 microneedling, lactation services and “flower-face lift,” which is a vaginal/pelvic floor treatment.

“That has brought me a lot of joy,” Frank said. “I didn’t foresee this growing into what it is now, but here we are.”

Frank, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse-midwife, said insurance typically covers only two ultrasounds during a pregnancy.

“It’s great to give women and parents peace of mind with more than one ultrasound early in their pregnancy, especially because there is a lot of anxiety during that first trimester and people want to see their baby all the time.”

The Sonography Studio offers limited diagnostic scanning and other services as single appointments, as well as more cost-effective bundles and membership perks. It accepts HSA for payment.

There’s also a boutique within The Sonography Studio, Keith & Lux, offering maternity and baby merchandise.

Frank plans to be in Sioux Falls for appointments and services on Mondays but will have a full-service staff throughout the week.

Hours vary daily, and the business is closed on Sundays. Click here for additional details.
