Sioux Falls-based Silverstar Car Wash is growing into Minnesota in a big way.

One of the nation’s fastest-growing car wash brands, Silverstar plans to add five locations in the Twin Cities area beginning later this year with a location in Inver Grove Heights.

“Getting to make this announcement feels a little surreal,” said Marty Donat, site startup manager with Silverstar Car Wash. “As we’ve grown in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska, we’ve been eyeing opportunities to expand our footprint into Minnesota. This growth provides an extensive network of car washes that allows our Unlimited Wash Pass members to access a Silverstar wherever they live, work and play.”

Future locations under construction include Blaine, Coon Rapids, White Bear Lake and Anoka.

Silverstar’s first location opened in Sioux Falls in 2010. It’s now the largest car wash in the Upper Midwest, with 21 locations in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska and many more under construction.

Home of the Unlimited Wash Pass, Silverstar offers membership options that allow drivers the opportunity to wash their cars as often as they like for a flat, monthly rate, starting at $19.95 per month and including free vacuums and prep towels with all washes.

A few key factors set Silverstar apart, starting with its dedication to its growing team of 200 people, vice president of operations Andrea Vetos said.

“We put a heavy emphasis on creating a career path for our team members, allowing them to learn new skills and to move them into better and better positions,” she said.

“The other thing that I believe sets us apart is our high-quality experience. We are constantly working to improve even small parts of our operation, from cleanliness to employee experience to customer satisfaction.”

Giving back to the community is key too. Silverstar offers free wash days, partners with local charities and hosts memorable events like its annual Haunted Car Wash.

All new locations celebrate grand openings with a fundraiser and company match to support a local nonprofit. To date, Silverstar Car Wash has supported these organizations with donations of more than $45,000.

Becoming part of Atlanta-based Mammoth Holdings LLC in late 2021 “has allowed us to share best practices with all of the other brands within the Mammoth network, which has helped us continue to improve in many areas,” Vetos said.

“For example, having a recruiting team to assist us in bringing on new team members has been helpful to allow our teams on-site to focus more on their daily operations.”

Mammoth is the first car wash platform formed by industry insiders and operates more than 100 conveyor car washes nationwide, with more continually opening.

As the Silverstar brand continues to expand within the Mammoth network, count on more opportunities based in Sioux Falls, she added.

“There will be growth needed in support services like HR, payroll and recruiting,” Vetos said. “Some of these positions will be regional, located here in Sioux Falls, which creates further opportunities for growth within our company.”

And Silverstar is far from done growing. The goal is to bring “a better wash and a great feeling” to customers across the Midwest.

“With that, I see our regional headquarters continuing to grow, as well as Mammoth’s core team,” Vetos said. “It’s exciting to see the growth, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the growth brings for our team!”
