“It simplifies the process and is a really easy way to start up curbside trash and recycling service,” said Tim Deppe, Novak’s sales manager.

“As long as you’re in the city limits of Sioux Falls, you can sign up this way, and we can begin servicing you often within days.”

How it works

Once you click on the button to start up service, a form will walk you through entering your address and contact information.

You’ll choose a container size, with current curbside rates shown, prepay for your first month and receive a confirmation email.

“Before we offered click-to-order, everyone would need to call to start up service,” office manager Michelle Kretschmar said. “You can still call if you’d prefer or have questions, but with this, it takes less than five minutes and is convenient for people who might not have time to call during business hours.”

You’ll always receive a 96-gallon recycling bin, with collection of that every other week.

“Once I receive the order, I’ll email a welcome packet and let them know when to expect pickup for garbage and recycling,” Kretschmar said.

“It’s a fairly new service, but it’s been fun to see people are discovering it through our website and learning how easy it is to check one thing off your to-do list.”

What next

Once you’ve signed up for service, you’ll want to download the Novak app, where you can manage your service, find answers to recycling questions and be notified of any changes in service – plus be reminded about your collection dates.

Novak has served Sioux Falls since 1965 and is the largest trash collection service in the metro area.

“We’re fully staffed to the level needed to service the growing needs of Sioux Falls and have put resources behind our operation to the extent that people are happy with their service,” Deppe said.

“We receive positive feedback all the time and enjoy sharing that with our team. As the city grows, we’ve been happy to serve new customers nearly every day.”
