Shopko to close four S.D. stores

Four South Dakota Shopko stores are among 39 companywide that are closing.
The stores are in Dell Rapids, Redfield, Wagner and Webster.
Shopko was founded in Wisconsin in 1962 and has 363 stores in 24 states, including two in Sioux Falls. Fifteen stores will remain across South Dakota after the closings. In 2005, it was acquired by an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on buyouts, equity and debt.
The store closures are expected at the end of February. Going-out-of-business sales at the affected stores start Friday.
