What brought you to Sioux Falls?

My career brought me to Sioux Falls.

What keeps you in Sioux Falls?

Career opportunities, Sioux Falls offers a number of items through the Parks and Recreation Department, and the safety of our community is also very important to me.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Building teams. I enjoy creating an environment when the team functions and supports each member of that team:

• Establish the culture of the team.
• Communicate expectations for the team.
• Teach the team how to work with one another.
• Build strong relationships with each team member.

How did you get connected to your industry?

With being a member of PMI (Project Management Institute) Sioux Empire, I connected and networked with my current supervisor, Jeff Miller. Jeff and I visited around what Interstates does but more importantly the culture of Interstates. I was very much intrigued and pursued a project manager role with Interstates, and the rest is history.

Family, growing culture, serving clients.

What’s your favorite way to give back to your community?

I like to use my talents to give back to the community.

What’s one business you’d like to see in Sioux Falls that isn’t here now?

Our community is well-rounded and has a number of great business. I feel our community is based on shopping and food. Would an outlet mall of some sort make sense to bring to our community? This will draw folks from the surrounding communities.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I want to continue to grow my leadership skills. I truly enjoy building teams, and I will place myself where I can continue to build and challenge teams to be the best they can be.
