SBA district director named for South Dakota

There’s a a new SBA district director for South Dakota.

Bryson Patterson, who previously served as deputy district director, has been appointed to the role.

He succeeds Jaime Wood, who left the agency for another position within the federal government.

Based in Sioux Falls, Patterson will be responsible for delivering SBA’s programs and services to small businesses and entrepreneurs across South Dakota.

“Bryson Patterson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the district director position in South Dakota,” Aikta Marcoulier, SBA regional administrator, said in a statement.

“He has connections in the Sioux Falls area and understands the unique needs of the business community throughout the state.”

Patterson has 16 years of experience working in small-business finance and exporting. Before coming to South Dakota, he served as the regional export finance manager for Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming at the U.S. Export Assistance Center in Denver.

“I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead the SBA’s South Dakota district office team into the future,” Patterson said. “Across South Dakota, we have a tremendous network of resource partners that assist small-business owners each day. There is a can-do attitude in this state, which lends itself to a robust entrepreneurship ecosystem.”
