Sanford Health has announced another leadership addition in Sioux Falls.

Eric Hilmoe will become the new chief operating officer for the Sioux Falls metro market area, succeeding Andy Munce who recently was promoted to CEO of Sanford Sioux Falls.

Hilmoe previously served as chief operating officer for the Sanford Health Network, which works with rural communities in South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska. He began his career with Sanford in 1998, serving as chief financial officer at Sanford Canton-Inwood Medical Center before becoming CEO four years later.

“His 27 years of dedication to our market’s rural communities have given Eric a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in delivering high-quality, coordinated care across communities with unique needs,” Munce said in a statement.

“The work he’s done in the network has enhanced care integration, strengthened partnerships throughout the region and improved access for underserved populations; he has an informed perspective that will be invaluable as he steps into leadership with Sioux Falls metro.”
