Roundhouse Brew Pub opens, reveals menu
July 12, 2021
Diners have been peeking in the window and calling the phone before it was operational — but now the doors are open at a new neighborhood bar and grill in south Sioux Falls.
Roundhouse Brew Pub opened today in a retail center on 69th Street just east of Cliff Avenue.
The menu has a lineup of 7-ounce smashed burgers with train-inspired names. They start with the Mainline, which offers the basics: lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle with optional cheese.
The Steam Engine burger kicks it up with Cajun seasoning, pepper jack, avocado, jalapeno and mango habenero.
The Conductor goes a different direction, with tomato, bacon, American cheese, an over-easy egg and peanut butter.
Starters include hand-battered onion rings, pretzel bites and bacon bleu Brussel sprouts made with bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, buffalo sauce, balsamic reduction and green onion.
There also are traditional and boneless wings, plus chislic.
And there’s a wide assortment of sandwiches and wraps.
“We’re trying not to be everything to everybody, but we’re trying to incorporate families during the day and sports stuff,” said Jason Walsh, who is part of a large group of local owners. “I let the cook run with that. He designed all the food.”
The menu is rounded out by three pastas and about a dozen pizzas — also with train-themed names — available as thin crust or hand-tossed.

Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight daily, and they’re considering a 2 a.m. close Friday and Saturday. If a major sporting event is on TV, the plan will be to stay open until it ends.
