Oh My Cupcakes is planning to celebrate National Unicorn Day on Saturday will an even bigger celebration this year. Limited edition unicorn cupcakes will be for sale all day at both locations along with Magical Color Changing Unicorn Lemonade. A limited number of Unicorn Day cakes also will be available. Unicorn party boxes with two cupcakes and decorations can be ordered online.

Flyboy Donuts is celebrating a day earlier with unicorn-themed doughnuts. Order a dozen or even just a single one online before Friday at 10 p.m. They also will be available on Saturday.

Vuture Food, a traveling food truck that describes its menu as plant-based junk food, will be downtown at Covert Artisan Ales & Cellars from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Also in town Saturday: the popular On the Hooks Fish & Chips truck. The crew will be serving beer-battered wild Alaskan cod and fries from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the parking lot at Tractor Supply Co. on North Cliff Avenue.

Queen City Bakery has a menu of special baked goods that can be ordered for Easter celebrations. There are quiches, coffee cake rings, hot cross buns, coconut cake, lemon and honeycomb tarts, strawberry rhubarb pie and scones. Order the special brunch for six option and get a variety of mini hot cross buns, mini scones, a 9-inch quiche and yogurt parfait fixings. Call or stop by the bakery on East Eighth Street to place an order. Pickup days are April 16 and 17.

LaDelle and Fourth Coffeehouse in Dell Rapids is offering its take-and-bake cinnamon roll kit for Easter. Order by Monday for pickup April 15 or 16. Get a half-dozen for $12 or a dozen for $20.

Let It Fly is offering a free appetizer with the donation of money or candy to fill Easter baskets for kids at Children’s Inn. Items are being accepted until 3 p.m. April 15.

Looking for some new fish options to finish up the final days of Lent? 22Ten Kitchen Cocktails has three features until April 16. Mahi mahi with mango salsa on a bed of rice is available at dinner. Shrimp tacos and the Dakota Po’ Boy are served for lunch and dinner.

The featured pizza of the month at Look’s Marketplace is The Pesto Pie. The hand-tossed crust is topped with almond pesto, Greek olive, red onion, feta, fresh mozzarella, lemon and cherry tomatoes.

Ruby Tuesday is celebrating its 50th anniversary with $9 burgers and a new birthday cake dessert from Cake Boss Buddy Valastro’s Carlo’s Bakery. Stop by the restaurant on Shirley Avenue for a chance to win free food, gift cards and $500,000. The promotion ends April 28. The restaurant chain was founded in 1972 in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Granite City Food & Brewery is offering fresh flavors of spring with its April featured menu. The employee pick for the entree from Tiff Ralls is the Chicken Bruschetta Salad. Bartender Ahna Bartman has crafted three cocktails: Green Appletini; Feelin’ Peachy with raspberry vodka, peach schnapps, lemonade, strawberry and peach puree with a champagne float; and April Showers with Malibu, Blue Curacao, pineapple juice and Sprite.

Donate a item at Sickies Garage for troops serving overseas, and get a free 16-ounce tap from Shiner Beer. Find a list of accepted items at sickiesburgers.com. While you’re there, check out the new menu items, including the new buffalo chicken mac-and-cheese bowl, barbecued pork mac-and-cheese melt and the Slick Beef and Cheese, a half-pound of pot roast smothered with nacho cheese sauce on a Parmesan and pepper bun, topped with crispy onion tanglers and Jameson whiskey barbecue sauce.

Buffalo Ridge Brewing in Hartford releases its Pink Boots brew today. Every year, women in the brewing industry gather to a make a beer using a special blend of hops. Buffalo Ridge brewed Elemental Blend, a Belgian Tripel IPA. Lupulin Brewing and Jefferson Beer Supply assisted in the creation. It’s available on tap.

Changes in hours, service

Nick’s Gyros reopened its lobby and dining room today for the first time since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. The popular Greek restaurant had been operating only through the drive-thru. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

With the opening of the West 12th Street B&G Milkyway on Monday, all eight of the restaurants in the Sioux Falls area are open for the season.

Glacial Lakes Distillery and Brewhouse has new hours of noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, 3 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 2 p.m. to midnight Friday and noon to midnight Saturday.
