Restaurant Roundup: Taylor Swift-themed brunch, comfort-food offerings

Nov. 2, 2023

If you love Taylor Swift, Granite City Food & Brewery is hosting a Taylor Swift-themed brunch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Come dressed in your favorite era and bring bracelets for trading. There will be bottomless mimosas, themed cocktails and mocktails. Customers at the bar will have access to a secret mimosa menu. There will be an Eras Tour-inspired playlist, take-home cups, face-painting and a photo booth. Reservations are encouraged for 75-minute time slots; call 605-362-0000.

Looking for some comfort food? Daily lunch specials are back at Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery. They’re available after 10:30 a.m.

The Rush Bar & Grill also has new weekday casserole lunch specials. So far, they’ve been following the schedule in the photo below, co-owner Al Grey said. Tuna noodle might be getting the boot, though, because it hasn’t been very popular so far, he said. The bar and grill also started serving a daily soup of the day now that cooler weather has arrived. Chili always is available, but a different soup joins it every day – everything from tomato basil and chicken noodle to loaded baked potato and beer cheese.

Take-and-bake meals are back at Stensland Family Farms retail stores with new recipes and options based on customer feedback. Family meal, appetizer, soup and dessert options are delivered from the farm to the stores every Wednesday.

Hot Springs Sioux Falls is hosting an end-of-the-season food truck gathering from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Participating trucks include Taqueria Juanita, Berkes BBQ, Auntie J’s American Soul Food, Cheezy Noodlez Gourmet Mac & Cheeze, Sisouvanh’s Laos Cuisine and Curbside Delights. The business is at 1605 W. 41st St.

Now that Parker’s Bistro has a dessert chef, customers can order signature cakes. Offerings include tiramisu, chocolate, strawberry shortcake and chef’s choice. They’re available in 5-, 8- and 10-inch single-tier sizes, with an additional charge for more tiers. Give the chef two days’ notice. You can pick up them up or have them ready for a dinner at the downtown restaurant.

Because of the NFL game in Germany, Safari Bar & Grill is opening Sunday morning. The restaurant will serve breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. Find breakfast pizzas and a full breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast, along with bloody mary specials. Through Mighty Peace Coffee, the event also supports OffGridBox, which provides clean water to remote areas worldwide. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sioux Falls Chef is having a sale on thaw-and-bake items Saturday that will serve as a food drive.
