Restaurant Roundup: More Sunny’s pizza, new featured menus, Christmas openings

Dec. 22, 2022

Customers at Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse liked the delivery service of Sunny’s Pizzeria from the nearby EightyOne Arcade so much, that the tasting room bought an oven so it could provide Sunny’s pizzas every day of the week. Earlier this year, Sunny’s opened a second location in the arcade’s kitchen and recently added delivery service to Glacial Lakes, but it’s open only from Thursday through Sunday. Glacial Lakes worked with Sunny’s and now is buying take-and-bake pizzas. Six varieties are available along with a featured pizza that will change. With a new special, customers can add a beer or mixed drink to their pizza order for $5.

Oppa Chicken opened over the weekend with limited offerings, but the full menu will be available starting Saturday. The restaurant also is open Christmas Day. Learn more about the menu in this story we wrote earlier this week.

Restaurant specializing in Korean fried chicken opens

Chef Lance’s on Phillips has revamped its menu. According to the downtown restaurant, some of the most popular items are French onion soup, pan-seared scallops, lobster carbonara and the Surf & Turf, which is a 6-ounce grilled beef tenderloin with five jumbo shrimp sautéed with shallots and garlic in butter. Customer-favorite mac-and-cheese egg rolls have returned.

Crawford’s Bar & Grill has a new featured menu. Options include Argentinian Style, which is coffee-crusted wagyu tri-tip that’s carved thin and topped with chimichurri sauce. Reef & Beef is a 6-ounce grilled beef tenderloin with three fried crab ravioli. Sriracha Lime Snapper is pan-seared red snapper on a bed of roasted red pepper risotto finished with sriracha lime gastrique and cilantro. For dessert, there’s an apple crumb bread pudding.

Food truck Tacos de Gringo is operating through winter, mostly accepting invites from businesses and breweries to sell food indoors, but it has added take-and-bake meals in family and individual portions. Recent offerings included Southwestern chicken penne pasta and Southwestern lasagna, also know as beef enchilada casserole. Delivery is available. Find what’s available on Tacos de Gringo’s Facebook page.
