Fernson Downtown’s igloos are back for winter — shown here before they were fully furnished — offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy Fernson’s craft beer and Wagoo Burger’s food in a unique setting. The heated, clear plastic igloos can be reserved for 90 minutes and seat up to eight people. The $50 rental fee includes the first round of pints. Each is decorated in a different theme: cottage, greenhouse and brick house. Make reservations here.

Sioux Falls SantaCon is back after a two-year break because of the pandemic. The downtown bar crawl features partygoers dressed as Santa Claus. The event starts a 4 p.m. at PAve and makes “sleigh stops” every 90 minutes. Other participating bars are Club David, Lucky’s Bar and Wileys. The photo below is from the first event in 2012. Get all the details here.

For the past couple of years as they shared kitchen space, Chef April and Chef Jeni have held a joint holiday pop-up shop. Now that Chef April Austin has her own space, Chef April Cakes, Confections & Celebrations, they’re having their own events. Chef April’s shop is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 3210 E. 10th St. She’s offering lefse, hot cocoa bombs, treat boxes, decorate-your-own cookie kits, a pick-your-own-dozen cookie bar, snack mixes, soups and appetizers.

Chef Jeni Thomas’ Dinner Birdie will have a holiday open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at 3638 S. Southeastern Ave. Shop the ready-to-eat and take-and-bake Dinner Birdie offerings and enjoy samples.

Papa Woody’s Wood Fired Pizza has added a lunch menu with items that are “quick and easy, fill you up and get you out the door,” co-owner Lisa Esser said. They’re available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in addition to the full menu. Choices range from potato skins and a loaded chili potato to soups, sandwiches and salads. A combo special offers a choice of two items: baked potato, chili, salad, soup, breadsticks or a half-order of boneless chicken wings.

SoDak Soda added hot chocolate to its beverage lineup when the weather started turning cold and now has created a menu of gourmet offerings. Here’s a look at the 16-ounce drinks.

New seasonal flavors are on the menu at Parlour Ice Cream House: brown butter pecan, peppermint mocha and gingerbread.

The SandBar & Grill has created a featured menu with 10 new entrees. Diners will find comfort food such as meatloaf and buffalo mac-and-cheese, fried catfish, a chicken burrito skillet and more.

Changes in hours, service
