Restaurant Roundup: Grilled cake, spaghetti sandwich, $5 meals, ‘Final Friday’ specials

Take a step into summer with the new featured menu at 22Ten Kitchen Cocktails. Choices include a summer salad, roasted grape crostini, coconut curry chicken, fish tacos and chimichurri steak.

Dessert choices are chocolate-dipped key lime pie and grilled angel food cake with orange-honey glazed fruit and strawberry ice cream.

For cocktails, there’s the Summer Fling Martini, Flower Power Mule and Watermelon Sugar. The featured wine is Bonny Doon Picpoul, a white, rustic grape variety out of California.

Roundhouse Brew Pub has a new featured menu. Choices include a gorgonzola walnut cavatappi salad, candied bacon, a spaghetti sandwich, chorizo burger, Buffaque Chicken Mac, feta bruschetta pizza and fried Oreos.

Here’s a look at the $5 community dinner menu for Wednesday nights in July and August at the Sioux Falls Food Co+op.

Stop by Remedy Brewing Co. to catch the new Flat Top Friday special from The Saucy Boyz. The kitchen crew will offer something new on the last Friday of the month. For June, the special is gyros. It’s a small batch, so get it while you can, starting at 4 p.m.

Here’s another “Final Friday” special in case you’ve forgotten about it: Carpenter Bar serves oysters on the final Friday of the month. Shucking starts at 4 p.m. Friday.

The Night Owl has a new base for its operations. The food truck that features an all-day breakfast menu is stationed at Mekong Asian Market at Cliff and Rice. Follow it on Facebook for a weekly schedule.

Some of the food trucks in Sioux Falls have started using the Street Food Finder app to help customers find where they’re at every day. It also works online at streetfoodfinder.com.

Heart of the City Bakery is looking for temporary help to cover for owner April Smith after she has open heart surgery the first week in July. She’s looking for a couple of people to keep the bakery running through September. Heart of the City sells its gluten-free baked goods at farmers markets and through grocery stores. Safari Bar & Grill has a special dinner special Friday night. It’s serving an elk chop dinner with cherry luxardo demi-glace. The meal comes with garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies and a garden salad. Get one chop for $25 or two for $35.

Three Sioux Falls restaurants have been recognized by Wine Spectator for their wine service. Morrie’s Steakhouse received a Best of Award of Excellence, and Maribella Ristorante and Parker’s Bistro were honored with the Award of Excellence.

Scooter’s Coffee has a new kids menu for summer featuring the Berry Silly Slush and Cotton Candy or Strawberry Lil’ Smiley smoothies. Also available: mini sugar cookies with rainbow sprinkles.

The traveling food truck On the Hook Fish & Chips will be in Sioux Falls on Saturday. It will be at Tractor Supply Co. on North Cliff Avenue from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Changes in hours, service

  • Nature’s Way Juice Bar is getting an earlier start to its days for summer. Hours are now 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
  • Phnom Penh Restaurant is taking a longer Fourth of July holiday. It will be closed July 4-10.
