Take positive steps toward becoming a “growing man” in all areas of life by attending an upcoming event expected to draw thousands.

The seventh annual RESGEN Men’s Summit is a half-day conference that encourages men 18 and older to grow and fulfill their purpose as leaders, husbands, fathers and Christ followers.

“You’ll laugh, be both encouraged and challenged, and walk out feeling seen, known, invested in and equipped to live out what you learned,” RESGEN founder Tom Henderson said.

This year’s RESGEN Men’s Summit will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at Central Church in Sioux Falls.

Nearly 1,000 men are expected to attend in person, with more than 2,000 online and at simulcast sites.

“The energy and atmosphere in the room is electric,” Henderson said. “And one of the coolest things is how diverse the crowd is: white-collar, blue-collar, married, single, college students, fathers and grandfathers. Men seem to love it because they keep coming back year after year and bring other guys with them.”

Attendee Dan LaRock has registered for his fourth Summit.

“The Summit offers a really impactful series of messages that men just don’t spend time thinking about on a regular basis,” LaRock said. “It’s easy to invite other guys to because the event is comfortable, even if it pushes us emotionally a bit. That’s OK; it’s good to be pushed.”

The theme for the RESGEN Men’s Summit this year is growth – becoming a growing man in all areas of life.

“Every year we have a diverse lineup of speakers in terms of content, style and expertise, and this is one of our strongest lineups ever,” Henderson said. “They’re engaging, funny and extremely good communicators.”

Topics include:

  • What keeps men from growing.
  • Growth through setting attainable goals.
  • Growing in our purpose.
  • Growing in our relationships.

All speaker bios can be found here.

“While the main draw is generally within an hour of Sioux Falls, we have guys who come from all over – including several who fly in every year because they tell us there is just nothing like being in the room,” Henderson said. “I have pages of testimonies and stories from guys about how the Summit has impacted their lives and relationships – both with God and with others.”

Repeat attendee Reggie Kuipers makes the Summit a priority.

“It sets the tone for my faith walk each year, which ultimately helps me be a better husband, father, friend and colleague,” Kuipers said. “I always walk away with a few takeaways that I lean on throughout the year to get through the challenges life brings.”

The hope is that those attending the RESGEN Men’s Summit will continue to experience its benefits through other regular programs and meetings, Henderson said.

“We hope churches utilize the Summit to start a men’s ministry or kick off their men’s ministry programs for the year,” he said. “Ideally, each man leaves the Summit inspired to become part of what RESGEN calls a ‘Band of Brothers,’ which is a group of three to four men who meet regularly to encourage one another in their relationships with God and others, and to live lives of integrity and character.”

Attendees at the Summit have access to all content online for 30 days after it’s held.

“The Summit also serves as a springboard for our corporate and nonprofit seminars where I encourage people to pursue Life Giving Success and speak life into others,” Henderson said. “RESGEN continues to stay connected with the attendees through our inspirational texts and newsletters, the “RESGEN Giving Life Podcast” and other annual events like the RESGEN Men’s Lunch.”

Date Night Comedy

RESGEN began holding a Date Night Comedy event before the Summit five years ago, and it too has become a popular draw.

“It was a great way to start the weekend and was a good way for guys to hear from one of the speakers that would be at the Summit,” Henderson said, adding up to 50 men who attend the Date Nights then decide to go to the Summit too.

“Date Night Comedy has proven to be a fun event where couples just laugh together and at the same time walk away with a few things that can strengthen their marriage,” he said. “The main agenda for those nights though is to laugh – something we all need to do more of!”

The two-hour show will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 2 and 3, with a virtual option Feb. 3. Both nights are the same show. Click here to learn more.
