Lisa Zens has joined Sioux Metro Growth Alliance as an economic development specialist. She will serve as the director of economic development for the city of Worthing and the director of the Harrisburg Economic Development Corporation. Zens previously served in the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and with Grow Spink based in Redfield.

Sioux Falls native Joe Bliss has joined the Bockorny Group as a principal. Bliss brings extensive Capitol Hill experience to the bipartisan government affairs consulting practice, including seven years with Sen. Mike Rounds. During this time, he advised the senator on legislative and regulatory issues with a focus on agricultural, energy, environmental, transportation and infrastructure policy. He previously served as senior field representative for Rounds in South Dakota. He is a veteran of two statewide political campaigns in 2014 and 2020, and began his congressional service with Sen. John Thune in 2013. In addition, Bliss served as staff director for the Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Superfund, Waste Management and Regulatory Oversight, which has jurisdiction over the Environmental Protection Agency, the Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Shannon Nordstrom, co-owner, vice president and general manager of Nordstrom’s Automotive Inc. in Garretson, has been nominated to join the Automotive Recyclers Association’s executive committee as secretary for 2022-23. Nordstrom will be confirmed by the board of directors and membership during the association’s annual convention in September.
