The Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce has named the Poppens family of Lennox as the 2022 Farm Family of the Year and Dana Dykhouse as the 2022 Agribusiness Citizen of the Year.

The Poppenses raise livestock and grow corn and soybeans on their farm northeast of Lennox. The family operation runs under the name OK Corral. Family members include Dave and Charis Poppens, Cheryl Poppens, Eric and Ginger Poppens and Brian and Desiree Poppens.

Dykhouse is the CEO of First Premier Bank. He grew up on a small family farm near Rock Rapids, Iowa, and earned a degree in animal science from South Dakota State University. He began his banking career working in ag lending.

 

Horizon Health Foundation

Horizon Health Foundation has added two members to its board of directors: Tom Glanzer of Huron, community relations manager of South Dakota and Nebraska for NorthWestern Energy; and Carrie Howard of Woonsocket, editor of the Sanborn Weekly Journal and co-owner of Dumont Boutique and Co. The foundation ensures rural health care access to those in need and provides funding for Horizon Health Care. The federally qualified health center provides medical, dental and mental health care through a network of 32 community health centers in underserved areas of rural South Dakota.

Nadia Dombrowski has joined MetaBank as executive vice president, chief legal officer. She succeeds Anthony Sharett, who was promoted to president of the company last year. Dombrowski has more than three decades of experience in the legal, regulatory, compliance, risk and operations space, working with financial services, retail banking and operations, payments and networks, corporate finance, corporate transactions, municipal finance and outsourcing. Before joining MetaBank, Dombrowski served as senior vice president and general counsel for Safrapay. Before that, she held senior leadership roles at Mastercard, Bank of America, Community Federal Savings Bank and several other companies in the financial services industry.
