A new event space in Tea is offering a “blank canvas” for small celebrations, including parties, showers and micro-events and workshops.

Wynn + Wonder is open inside The Radius in Tea at 200 N Heritage Parkway, Suite 102.

After 12 years in the wedding photography industry and four children younger than 8 with her husband, Travis, Sidney Borrill-Patch knew this was her next move.

“After being a wedding photographer and now having kids with weekend activities, I wanted my weekends back,” she said, adding that she had always dreamt of opening a small-scale event space in her community.

During their morning commute to school, Borrill-Patch noticed a space that offered great lighting and windows, and knew it would be perfect to match her vision.

“We wanted it to be luxurious but attainable, and we also want to bring more events to Tea,” she explained.

The calendar is filling up with events through August, including:

• Bloomcore floral arrangement workshop with In Flower at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7.
• Pop-up with SoDak Soda and a food truck from 4 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15.
• Bento cake and buttercream workshop with Kait Bakes Cakes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 22.

In addition, the space will offer co-working hours every Wednesday during the school year from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A number of other events are planned through the end of the year.

Already, Wynn + Wonder has hosted a few events to showcase local small-business vendors, and the response has been overwhelming in a good way, Borrill-Patch said.

One thing you’ll always find is a set tablescape, something near and dear to her heart as she learned at a young age from her grandmother how to properly set a table, she said.

“It’s such a dream come true to see people utilizing what we’re creating because we put a lot of thought, time and effort into creating them,” Borrill-Patch said.
