New venture focuses on virtual, interactive training for businesses

April 27, 2018

Helping businesses train teams to deliver memorable customer experiences is the focus of a new venture of some Sioux Falls business leaders.

Matt Jensen, Nathan Schock and Nathan Unruh are the operating board of FiveFour, which will offer virtual, interactive training for businesses that want less turnover from their customers and team members.

“Our particular expertise is helping businesses train their team so that they are prepared to provide memorable customer experiences and not just acceptable products and services,” Schock said. “The training we deliver depends on the needs of the business.”

The group had been working with Sidecar to provide the training to chiropractors, and “we’ve seen how it can transform someone from a struggling doctor to a confident business leader with a high-performing team,” he said.

“So we know this model works. We’ve heard from tons of business owners who are struggling with a poor-performing team, high turnover or a lack of customer loyalty. These business owners know that training their team is part of the solution, but they don’t have the time, the people or the expertise to do it. Technology has changed the way people learn, and by delivering short video clips followed by a short quiz, we increase understanding and retention.”

FiveFour has three employees and anticipates hiring more, Schock said.

It will be based at 4426 S. Technology Drive in the lower level of VVI, “which gives us access to their videographers and editors,” he said.

On May 4, the business is launching a training platform for individuals and small businesses that also can be adapted and personalized for larger companies.

“We have also designed training platforms for businesses who want to train their team on their own content as well as those who want to share their expertise with an entire industry or business more broadly,” Schock said.

“Underlying all of our work at FiveFour is a fundamental belief that businesses don’t get better until their people do. And it all starts with a first impression. So for our launch, we’re bringing professional image consultant Sylvie di Giusto for an interactive presentation on how to impress in that first meeting.”

Di Giusto, an executive branding and image consultant, will speak from 3:30 to 5 p.m. May 4 at Callaway’s Event Center to help launch the business.

“We have also forged a partnership with Sylvie to include her content on our training platform. We want to reach people in the community who share our passion for personal development,” Schock said. “This isn’t going to be your typical launch event where we spend it talking about ourselves. We’d rather show the community what we do by investing in their growth with this free event.”

The space can hold 300 people. Register at fivefourtraining.com.

“While there are no geographic limits to the companies who can benefit from our training content, we’re excited to launch it in Sioux Falls because this business community has given so much to all of us,” Schock said. “We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
