New retail project at Lake Lorraine to host Sip-n-See open house

Jan. 22, 2019

This paid event listing is sponsored by The Shoppes at Lake Lorraine.

The retail opportunities continue to expand at Lake Lorraine, which has its first tenant opening in the newest building south of Hobby Lobby.

This building was recently completed and is available to local, regional and national businesses looking to capitalize on the outstanding location.

Known as The Shoppes at Lake Lorraine, it’s more than 33,000 square feet of flexible space parallel to Interstate 29 that can be customized for a wide variety of retailers.

“It is the heart of the entire development, with walkable space and outdoor recreation areas,” co-developer Steve Van Buskirk said. “It’s designed to provide an experience to our visitors.”

Those interested in the space can take a personal tour at an event Jan. 31 in the building.

The Sip-n-See will start with a Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting at 4:30 p.m. and then provide a 90-minute open house where retailers and those who support them can learn more about leasing and land sale opportunities at Lake Lorraine.

Lake Lorraine is co-listed with Mike Van Buskirk and Kristen Zueger, who will be at the open house to tour and answer questions. The development also has a leasing opportunity attached to Hobby Lobby, with almost 15,000 square feet that can be divided, and other fantastic choices among the remaining land parcels for additional development.

“We believe that people are looking for the latest in unique specialty goods, and The Shoppes will provide an ideal opportunity for that,” Mike Van Buskirk said.

One business already has embraced the vision. Moe’s Home Collection is relocating its home furnishings business within Lake Lorraine to a 4,690-square-foot space in the newly completed Shoppes.

“The building will serve everything from locally owned retailers to smaller national chains very well,” Zueger said.

The national retailers already open at Lake Lorraine have exceeded their projections, the brokers said, positioning the development well for additional businesses.

“This is a premier retail location with interstate visibility, accessibility and even provides connectivity to the Sioux Falls trail system,” Mike Van Buskirk said.

“Guests are able to enjoy the views of a 33-acre lake while shopping, grabbing something to eat or just taking a walk along the lake. Lake Lorraine is absolutely becoming a destination, and with two hotels coming within the next year, that is only going to accelerate the completion of the development.”

The Sip-n-See event is designed for business owners, and those who provide professional services to them.

“If you’re interested in starting, expanding or relocating a business, or you have clients connected within the retail industry, we’d love to show you the opportunities we have available,” Zueger said.

“If you are unable to attend the Sip-n-See event, please do not hesitate to contact any one of us and we will gladly provide you information on availability of space within this incredible development.”
