New retail planned for 41st & Sycamore

More commercial development is coming to southeast Sioux Falls.
A new retail center east of the Casey’s General Store at 41st Street and Sycamore Avenue is scheduled to start construction by April 1.
“We want to be operating businesses by fall,” said Raquel Blount of Lloyd Cos., who has the property listed. “We have a couple tenants working through agreements that we’re really excited about.”
The site has room for two 10,000-square-foot retail buildings, “and we have an office parcel just under an acre that we think would be perfect for insurance, dental, small medical uses or a law firm,” Blount said.
The surrounding area has filled up with commercial uses, including Fareway.
“There’s such strong traffic already there and so much housing around it. It’s a little pocket in and around all the housing,” Blount said. “We think that development will lend itself mostly to service-type uses — retail services and food and fitness.”
