The Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship will debut its Ignite event series this week at Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery.
At 4 p.m. May 15, Zeal’s new executive director Michelle Gjerde will present The Startup Landscape – a snapshot of how the entrepreneurial movement is affecting the economy.
She will share insight on global trends and opportunities, and inspiring stories of innovative products and solutions taking root in this region. The event is free and will include food, and the first 50 attendees will receive free drink tickets.
“The main goal of the Zeal Ignite event series is to bring together entrepreneurial-minded people and stimulate new ideas and connections,” Gjerde said.
“Every other month, we will host a presenter who can share insightful industry trends, emerging opportunities and inspiring local stories that spark conversations and collaboration.”
Gjerde said she’s excited by the high level of interest she has experienced from people seeking to be part of the Sioux Falls startup scene.
The Ignite series will bring in experts to talk about trending topics such as the Internet of Things, data analytics, dairy science, biotech, precision farming and neutrino research, and how they are significantly affecting the economy.
“There’s a lot to talk about, and we’re pleased to provide a forum for some intriguing content designed to spark a dynamic dialog,” Gjerde said.
