New housing planned near Dawley Farm

By Jodi Schwan

More housing options are coming near the east-side Dawley Farm Village.

Brady Smith, owner of Smith Development Co., recently bought almost nine acres west of Rosa Parks Elementary. Smith plans to build 16 single-family houses and eight twin homes starting later this summer.

“We like the Dawley Farm area because it is its own little community with a school next door and walking distance to retail stores, banks, a health clinic, entertainment and restaurants,” he said. “We are also really excited to introduce single-family houses in Dawley Farms.  There is a lot of activity with apartments and twin homes, but for those looking for single-family houses with a basement, we will soon be offering that.”

He estimates houses will start in the upper-$200,000 range, and twin homes will start at $220,000.

“It will cater to the homebuyers that like the convenience of having everything close to them while living in the popular Dawley Farm neighborhood,” Smith said.

Smith Development Co. plans to keep the lots exclusive and intends to build on each lot.

“Each house will be unique in design, style and size,” Smith said. “I am extremely excited to be a part of the Dawley Farm neighborhood and build a beautiful neighborhood.”
