A new fabric and clothing store in a retail center on Minnesota Avenue features colorful African prints known as Super Wax.

J-Super Wax at 2107 S. Minnesota Ave. sells a large selection of vibrant material in bold designs and pieces of East African and West African traditional clothing. The store also offers men’s suits, dress shirts and shoes, women’s dresses and casual clothing for men, women and children.

It’s owned by Vanessa Mpawenayo and her husband, Juma Nzibarinza.

J-Super Wax also will carry lotions and hair products, and plans to expand into cellphones and computers, Mpawenayo said.

Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
