New animated infographics help connect visitors with attractions

As the digital and social media world continues to evolve, consumers adapt to taking in as much information as possible in short amounts of time. Whether you want to admit it or not, this short attention span has made it difficult to reach consumers in a quick, concise, yet meaningful way.
Over the past couple of years, Experience Sioux Falls has partnered with Sioux Falls-based design company Lemonly to tackle this challenge head-on through the development of animated infographics.
In the highly competitive tourism industry, infographics provide a different way to communicate through a collection of imagery and minimal text. It was and still is a tool that many destinations do not leverage outside of communicating statistical information. The infographics became a unique way to market the city to potential leisure travelers and professional planners to pique their interests because sometimes the standard message or video just does not quite cut it.
The addition of animation also made the standard infographics more engaging and better showcase all there is do and explore in Sioux Falls.
Experience Sioux Falls recently freshened up three infographics that promote arts and culture, outdoor exploration and family activities.
In Arts & Culture, you’ll find information on museums, SculptureWalk, the Center for Western Studies, the Cathedral of St. Joseph and special events.

Special funding as a result of the coronavirus pandemic also allowed Experience Sioux Falls to create two completely new animated infographics, one for leisure travelers and one for meetings, sports and tour planners. COVID-mitigation efforts also were implanted throughout the infographics to show how you can explore Sioux Falls safely.
