David Painter has joined The First National Bank in Sioux Falls as an ag banker. Painter has more than 11 years of banking experience and works at the Louise Avenue branch.

For the third consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for 2023-24 ranked Sanford USD Medical Center as the No. 1 hospital in South Dakota. U.S. News evaluates data on nearly 5,000 hospitals in 15 adult specialties and 21 adult procedures and conditions. Sanford received high-performing rankings in three adult specialty areas: gastroenterology and gastroenterology surgery, orthopedics, and pulmonology and lung surgery. In urology and gastroenterology and gastroenterology surgery, Sanford USD Medical Center ranks as one of the top in the nation. Sanford also rated high-performing in 13 procedures and conditions: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, colon cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, heart bypass surgery, heart attack, diabetes, kidney failure, back surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and pneumonia.

Architectural graduate Andy Winter has joined the multidisciplinary design firm TSP Inc. and is working from the Rapid City office. Winter earned a bachelor’s degree in design and a master’s degree in architecture, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Zac Keenum

Tanner Ferguson

Dr. Tanner Ferguson will provide advanced cataract, LASIK, cornea and glaucoma surgery. During his undergraduate and medical studies, he worked closely with Dr. John Berdahl and Dr. Vance Thompson on multiple research projects. After medical school, he completed his residency at the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a one-year fellowship at Vance Thompson Vision specializing in advanced cataract, refractive, cornea and glaucoma surgery.

Dr. Zac Keenum will help expand Vance Thompson Vision’s oculoplastics surgical offerings. He recently completed a two-year American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Texas, Southwestern. The fellowship provides a high level of experience in plastic surgery around the eyes and face, giving him expertise in eyelid surgery.
