Avera McKennan

Clarissa Barnes

The American College of Physician Advisors has named Dr. Clarissa Barnes of Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center as president elect of its board of directors. Barnes serves as the lead physician adviser in clinical documentation integrity and utilization review for Avera McKennan. She is also a system-level physician adviser for Avera Health, a clinical professor for the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine and a practicing internist and hospitalist. She will become president of the board in summer.

TSP Inc.

Austin DeJong, a structural engineer with TSP Inc., has been licensed as a Professional Engineer in South Dakota. He recently passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam to become a licensed civil engineer specializing in structural design.

 

CorTrust Bank

Jack Hopkins

Jack Hopkins, CorTrust Bank president and CEO, has been nominated to serve as vice chairman of the board of directors for the Independent Community Bankers of America. Hopkins will be the second South Dakota banker elected to a chair position for the national board in nearly 65 years.

Midco

Midco has promoted two staff members.

Paige Pearson Meyer

Ben Dold

Ben Dold to chief operating officer. Dold will continue to lead the field operations, field engineering and construction, procurement and supply chain, business operations and customer care functions. He joined Midco in 2010.

Paige Pearson Meyer to vice president of corporate communications. Pearson Meyer will continue to lead the corporate communications and community relations functions at Midco. Pearson Meyer joined Midco in 2016.

Paulsen

Paulsen has earned one best-of-show award and 11 first-place honors as part of 21 total awards for the agency in the Region 3 Best of NAMA competition from the National Agri-Marketing Association. Paulsen’s awards span nine client campaigns, including work for South Dakota Corn, South Dakota Soybean, the South Dakota Beef Industry Council and others. It received best of show for an advertising campaign for South Dakota Corn. All 21 awards will move on to the National Best of NAMA judging, which will be announced in April.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota

Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota has recognized three recipients of its annual Cornerstone Award, which honors individuals, businesses and organizations that have been long-standing supporters of the local charity.

Scott Hjellming

Scott Hjellming: As a member of the Home Builders Association, Hjellming guided construction of the Lake Avenue and 24th Street Ronald McDonald houses. He is a member of the RMHC board of directors.

Mary Olinger: Long-time member of the board, Olinger cares deeply about the mission and works tirelessly to support the charity.

Junior League of Sioux Falls: Forty years ago, Junior League helped lead the charge to open the initial Ronald McDonald House on Norton Avenue. Junior League members have been committed to the organization since its beginning in South Dakota.

Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium

With the merger of the Great Plains Zoo and Butterfly House & Aquarium, a new Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium board of directors has been appointed. Members are Alissa Bretsch, Margaret Carmody, Tracy Dahl-Webb, Molly Daniel, Tina Davis, Matt Ditmanson, Melissa Fossell, Darin Hage, Ryan Howlett, Jeff Hugunin, Jeannie Iannello, Don Kearney, Jennifer Kirby De Knudson, Jeanelle Lust, Laura Mitchell, George Mollner, David O’Hara, Mckenzy Raterman, Andrea Smith and Ryan Tysdal.
